Lachlan Valley Railway Society is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1974 for the purpose of collecting, preserving and presenting the railway heritage of NSW. The LVR Society is based in the New South Wales Central West town of Cowra (approximately 308km from Sydney).
CERT Training recently donated to the Lachlan Valley Railway Society (LVR) to assist in establishing a depot at Orange East Fork in the Central West of New South Wales.
The LVR Society will use the site for maintenance and storage of its main line fleet of rollingstock. This includes 3237, a 126 year old NSW Railways steam locomotive built by Beyer Peacock. CERT Training will also use the facility once it is established and operating to offer courses, such as TLI21315 – Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure.
CERT Training General Manager, Mark Haigh said: “It makes CERT proud to support the efforts of volunteer organisations within the railway sector and I hope the relationship continues into the future”.
Today the LVR Society operates a wide range of rail journeys featuring NSW’s most beloved heritage trains ranging from steam, diesel and vintage rail motors right across regional NSW.
